I say he's dark brown and the colours change because horses do shed and when they do new hair comes up the hair is either thin or thick and if its thick it goes lighter and if its thin it goes darker. Don't ask me why. Its just some thing I noticed in my horses. Its truely beautiful. Just like your horse.
