Question for the color gurus about my girl

So the ad for my mare said she was a red dun paint. I've been lurking the forums trying to gain knowledge for some time now, but not 100% positive, so thought I'd let the color gurus take a stab at it. I think she's bay with frame, but are there other factors at play? (No leg barring or dorsal stripe, so I don't think dun was correct...but with no papers and owners unable to provide names of sire or dam, it's all guesswork for me).

Looks like a frame bay horse to me I don't see any dun factor.

I agree, nothing looks dun about that horse and she is certainly not red/sorrel.

Agreed with bay and frame and maybe splash. She is lovely no matter what color :)

Bay with splash.

I am going to say bay with frame. While splash does like belly white, it also puts white on the legs and typically more on the face and chin. Splash also has more blocky, cleanly defined spots. Tbe spots on this horse is jagged and sharp, a frame characteristic. Also frame restricts leg white. Its possible she carries both but I only see frame here. Please don't breed unless stallion is tested. She is an extremely adorable girl! Congratulations!!

Thanks everyone for the input! IF I ever breed her, I will be extremely cautious about avoiding a stallion with frame. When I got her, they thought she had been bred to their double registered AQHA/APHA stallion and was due around June 2012. She was NOT bred, thankfully, as she was still so young herself and from reading up foaling can be tricky even with experienced broodmares, much less an extremely young, maiden mare (she was much younger than they had told me it turns out). However, there are SO many unwanted foals out there, if I get to wanting a baby too bad, will probably just look for a foal out there that's in need of a good home.

Thanks again to all for the help on color as well as the compliments. I think she's beautiful. I (ashamedly) let her get well overweight during the summer and early fall, but took her off round bale and now parcel out her hay throughout the day, cut her grain back to just enough to get her supplements and getting her back to a good weight now...think she should be just right come springtime, when I'm going to start training her under saddle. I intend to grow old with this girl, so I want to make sure I keep her sound and healthy for the rest of her life.

Look for tons of questions as we get into that! :)
