Sabino??

This is a filly I knew a few years back and just recently ran upon photos of her and got to thinking about her color.
Originally everyone just called her a roan but i'm not so sure anymore.
I've posted photos of both sire and dam, and think possibly, now, that her "roanish" coloring is just an excess of sabino??
I know the pictures arent the best as they were taken in winter when she was 6 months, but in the summer she did shed out to what appeared to be a nice, even-toned roan with a grey mane and tail.

This is the sire. He is a QH X Percheron gelding (now)

And the dam, I believe to be a pony mix of some sort. Her color is hard to see in this photo I know, but I will try to find any others I might have...

She's not true roan as neither sire nor dam are roan.

IMPO she is a sabino caused roan.

That's what I figured but just wanted to be sure.
Just for the heck of it, I managed to find a picture of her as a yearling in the summer. Gives a better idea of coat color

Very interesting! It reminds me a lot of the "macchiato" horse, Apache, that was found to have a new mutation of the splash white gene that caused a dilution effect in addition to the pattern. Macchiato The Equine Tapestry
