Unique Chestnut? Wild Bay? Something else? What is she?

Hello! I am new to forum, and have been lurking around this page especially because I am not sure what my new horse's color would be classified as. I just got her today and I am beyond pumped to be a horse mom! Her previous owner called her "chestnut sabino with dark points." She has a dorsal stripe too. However the paperwork I have from the previous owner's vets says "brown"

I feel like she is either a really unique chestnut or something like a wild bay. Her mane and tail are really dark, like a liver chestnut's would be, but her coat is a medium chestnut.

Any ideas would be helpful! These are the best pics I have of her, will try and get better ones tommorrow weather permitting.

Ash and Shulla =)

She is a chestnut. The big hint here is the lower part of the leg with the least white. See how it gets lighter right toward her coronet band? A bay won't do that. They only get darker as you go down - even a wild bay.

I agree, I would call her a chestnut. Perhaps "dark chestnut" if I wanted to get really descriptive LOL.

She's cute.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

Sweet thanks guys! I thought she was chestnut too, but the owner of the place I am boarding her at said wild bay.

And yes her name is Shulla (Shoo-la)!

I can't wait to be done with work today so I can get out and work with her!
