Weird white spot

I went out to the barn yesterday(Saturday) and while I was grooming, I noticed that my chestnut horse had suddenly gained a white(or maybe slightly roan) spot. It was not there at all when I was there on Thursday. All the googling I've done has led me to birdcatcher spots, but this is too big, since the spot is about the size of my palm. It is also nowhere where a saddle or anything else could rub it. Anyone have any idea to what is going on here?

Green Broke
Looks more like a gold spot. It is not known yet what causes them.
