what breed and color do you think he is?

Hi, I can't figure out this little guys color. At first I thought palomino, then he got darker so I thought dun but then I remembered the 5 points duns have to have and he only has 1 (the stripe down his back) so now I'm thinking chestnut but he seems to light to be chestnut... so idk
And just for fun I thought you could also try to guess what breeds he has in him :)
Here are his pictures, I think he is a little over a month in the first one and about 3 months in the last. The last one has his momma in it, since she was a rescue we don't know anything about her or who she was bred with (though whoever bred her was a big fat meanie-head because her colt is so big for such a little mare!)

If I click on the pictures, they show up just fine :) He's so adorable! My guess would still be red dun. The red in their legs doesn't always show up as brightly like black or bay duns, because the contrast is smaller. Though, when I look at his muzze and eyes, he appears to be shedding his baby coat and underneath seems to be quite dark.. so he might even be a shade of chestnut! What color are his dam and sire?

I'd say red dun too. I might be wrong, but in the first picture it looks like he has the zebra barring on the back of his front legs.

Red Dun. Mama is red , who knows what daddy was. So I would say Dun.

I agree with red dun and no, duns do not have to display all of the characteristic traits. The main thing to remember is that dun is a dilute gene that alters the base color and restricts the original color to such markings as the dorsal, leg stripes and shoulder barring, but will also in the case of dun leave the head and lower legs darker than the body.
As for breed, looks like a Quarter Horse or mix to me

The foal's baby coat is definitely red dun. The mom for some reason reminds me of a Welsh/section B Cob. So my guess is he's a Welsh/Cob + Quarter horse of some sort.
Does anyone else see Welsh/section B Cob in the mare?

Yup, I think red dun too. Cute little guy. Mom looks like a qh cross of some kind, maybe arab mixed in? Hard to tell by that photo.
