What color is this?

Just curious what color you would call this? Do flaxen chestnuts usually have a dark tail? Whatever he is, I'm drooling over him (found him on CL).

Amber Champagne would be my best guess. Here is a link that can give you more information. He is VERY pretty!

He doesn't hit me as a champagne. I can't find his ad again, but his eyes were dark.

His nose and legs are kind of interesting too.

Honestly id just say sorrel/chestnut with a flaxen mane & tail.

That horse is not champagne, he just looks like a flaxen chestnut with a sooty tail.

Okay after reading this one, I am thinking more of a bay with a silver gene on top. I do not know much about genetics and the differences in colors but I am just throwing this out there.

Chestnut/sorrel flaxen with a sooty tail. Not champagne and not silver.

The light legs are totally normal on red based horses.

Interesting, I didn't know that sooty could effect just the tail.

Yep it can affect just the tail, or part of the tail. Or it can affect just the man or part of the mane.

This stallion is a tested palomino. The dark mane is being caused by sooty. Just to show how centralised it can be lol.
