What color would you call him?

I'm very curious as to what color you would call this. He was bought by a friend at an auction so there is no registration. He was slated as a grey leopard appy. His spots however are bright sorrel color, the color of human "auburn." We no nothing of his breeding, but just curious what his color looks to be.

Definitely looks like a chestnut base with appy going on too (obviously). The first pic makes me say not grey, the second makes me say grey. Any idea on his age?

Mods, grant me the serenity to see the opinions I cannot change, courage to change the ones that should change, and the wisdom to spot the trolls.

HE's 5 in this picture. He is now about 10 and looks EXACTLY the same color wise, no fading at all.

Then chestnut base, no grey, and lots of LP/PATN going on, which is not my strong area so I will not even begin to guess at lol.

I'm only seeing one picture. He looks like a typical (as appies can be ) Appaloosa that has varnishing going on.

The other pic was causing an issue when I viewed it (I use chrome as my browser) so I thought it was doing it to everyone so I took it back off.
