Smile What colour is Apache Princess!?

Agh! Nobody can tell what her color is, and I really don't know about her sire, but her mother is Patches, the Paint horse right here.

She also has little dapples around her flank, like she's trying to go dapple gray! Also, in some spots her skin looks blue / light grey, which makes her look like a pinto that greyed out. My uncle owns her, but I'm just VERY curious about her color. She's beautiful!

Also, she's about 8 - 9 years old.

Now some pictures of her.

She looks like a gray to me... Am I missing a something?? There is no way at this point to tell what her base color is, though since mom is a pinto it is possible that she was too before graying out.

My father claims she used to be a pinto, and my uncle swears she's always been grey. I don't know who to believe!

Everyone who has known her for a long time all give me a different answer and I'm so confused! LOL

Have you seen her wet? Any areas that were originally white on her will have pink skin and will look white. Any areas that were originally colored will have black skin and will look grey.

She won't allow anybody to touch her because my uncle has 3 kids that live on his property, 2 that visit every weekend... Sigh... They run her off so now she's really scared of everybody...

I had great progress with her, too. I was able to touch behind her ears...

In the third picture you posted, you can clearly see the pinto pattern on her shoulder, where the dark skin meets a pink patch. She was pinto at birth and grayed out. I have two that did the same thing and you can really only see the paint if they are wet, or if the light hits them just right in summer. All grays start out as something else, and then change.

ETA, this is my paint, Dragon. He was a LOUD chestnut and white when he was born. And now he's such a light gray he looks silvery white. Dragon the horse
