What is the pattern called on her hip?

Exactly! The dark patch on the hip is just a concentration of the sooty gene.

Thank you, me too! She actually started out a plain chestnut and became this beautiful little thing! [though not so little anymore! xD]
I was really blessed/lucky with her.
