    My ginge
    His passport says chestnut, but I have always called him liver chestnut. What do you think?

    And, just because none of those photos do his dapples any justice..

    Yes I would call him a liver chestnut as well.

    At this point we do not know what causes the different shades of chestnut, so all chestnuts are genetically the same.

    So I agree that he does look like what some people refer to as liver chestnut, but when it's all said and done he's just chestnut.

    I don't know. In most those pictures, he just looks like a dark chestnut to me...but then again, I only call a horse a "liver chestnut" if they are exceptionally dark, like almost black looking.
