My ginge
His passport says chestnut, but I have always called him liver chestnut. What do you think?

And, just because none of those photos do his dapples any justice..

At this point we do not know what causes the different shades of chestnut, so all chestnuts are genetically the same.

So I agree that he does look like what some people refer to as liver chestnut, but when it's all said and done he's just chestnut.

I don't know. In most those pictures, he just looks like a dark chestnut to me...but then again, I only call a horse a "liver chestnut" if they are exceptionally dark, like almost black looking.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

I'm with you smrobs. Not dark enough for my opinion of a liver chestnut.
