Will he turn color?

This is our new colt - dam is a palomino, sire is a rabicano (although he is registered red roan...). Anyways, right now he looks sorrel. Just wondering if he is going to turn out rabicano, when should we see some changes? If he was going to change, would he have the coon tail from birth?
I would like to register him soon with AQHA, but do I just put him at sorrel for now, then can change it later if he changes?

I'm not the most knowledgeable with colors, though it is a passion of mine, but if he were rabicano, I'd assume he'd have a few marked features of rabicano from birth, though it may get more pronounced as he gets older. Again though, I'm no expert, I'm sure that someone else will have a more sure answer for you. He's definitely a cutie though.

Thanks, we have a 4 yr old filly that is rabicano, but we didn't buy her until she was 2, and already had the coon tail and a little bit of graying throughout her midsection. So I am not sure if they have any signs from birth, or if they can show up later!

I don't see anything right now that hints at rabicano, but wait until he sheds his foal coat because he's currently lighter (typical of a foal coat) in the areas that would be the most noticeable for rabicano.

I still wanna steal him lol. What breed is he? He's so adorable, rabicano gene or not.
