7yo ArabX Mare

Here is my gal. Daddy was Arab, momma was a what's it, and she popped out pinto. (Not an intentional breeding, mind you). I guess since daddy was white and momma was bay, she decided to be both

In your critique, if you could tell me how whatever you are talking about relates to function, that would be nice (what she may naturally be better at, or naturally have trouble with- what issues there may be with soundness in the future, etc). Also, suggestions as to what exercises I may want to look into doing to help get her back into shape or help compensate for faults (if possible)?

(For the last 6+ months either she or I have been sick or injured, so haven't done much, no one else works with her. She also just hit a growth spurt, and shot up about a hand in height Everytime I think her body is done changing shapes on me, she does it again)

She''s not going anywhere, she's my gal- you could tell me she was really a camel and I was terribly mistaken, and I'd still be happy with her

Sorry if the pictures aren't great. These are the best outta a gazillion- she is notoriously horrible with pictures.

She's a cutie!

I'm a terrible critiquer, I go more on a feel than on textbook technicalities because I'm not the most experienced, but she looks lovely to me. I'd say she's a touch downhill (but I ride english, mind), and maybe a bit long in the back. Her hind legs seem to toe out a peep. Does she always stand with her front legs under her like that?

Anyway, she's definitely not a camel ,very good looking girl!

No, she doesnt usually stand like that- but I had just woke her up, and she was she was being very uncoopertive, ha. This was best I could get at the time.

Thanks Muumi, I agree her toe go out a bit, I'm not sure what makes a horse long in the back relative to their size. I know she's got deceptively high/broad withers (makes saddle fit a major pain). She rides with what fits her, lol. She's done a little bit of everything, but is a master at none (entirely my lack of knowledge, she throws herself into whatever I ask)

I want to try to focus a little bit more on a discipline, but I don't know what to try out! I would like to try something that she would be decent at (as well as I would enjoy)... Just don't know where to start!

Anyone else?

Green Broke
Over all I like her and I find her color very interesting. I'm not a conformation expert, but I did notice her legs are decent, front and back, she is butt high and I feel a little light on bone.

I think she would make a great competitive trail mount. Fun way to see the country and compete at the same time, and her Arab ancestry should come in handy.
