I got this mare a few weeks ago as a project.
The people i got her from didn't really know much about her other then she had been used as a pack horse a couples times. They had bought her for their daughter but she didn't really like her.
So any suggestions as to what her breeding might be?
Any critique is appreciated
nice mare. She's a bit downhill, and seems a bit light of bone in the front legs, but could be the photo. partly
'cause her head is rather large in comparison to the body.
Shes cute, for sure! But downhill and a smidgeon posty legged behind, quite light boned. Decent shoulder, pastern angles match. Large hindquarters. Got a large head but nice soft eye. I like her, a lot.
That mare is very Quarterhorse in look. I suspect QH from her rear end to her shoulder. May be all QH actually.
In the top photo she has the appearance of sickle hocks. In the second photo not so much. Would like to see her right after a proper foot trimming and set up properly on dry, level ground and look at her again with a clear photo. In one photo she looks tied at the knee.. but not in the other. I expect the side shot photos do her no favors.
The front on photo just screams QH to me. She MIGHT have some rotations going on in her left front.. but the camera is at an angle so that could also be false.
