Confo Critique & breed guess

Here is Rascal. He is 3 years old and a grade of unknown origin because I'm quite certain he is not a Haflinger like the seller tried to claim. Breed guesses for fun are welcome!

He will be used primarily for trail but please feel free to be completely honest on his critique. I do these more as a learning experience to compare what I see in person and what others see. So the more detailed and honest the better.

I squared him up and took several pictures so hopefully these will give you a good idea. Thank you everyone!

Hard to tell from those pics how tall Rascal is. He looks like it's possible he has some Haffie in him. Or, Belgian and paint or qh. There is a hint of draft in him, for sure.

I really like him. He's so adorable. And has very nice bone to his legs.

I agree that he has either Halflinger or Belgian in there somewhere. How tall is he right now?

I would def agree that he is a Belgian cross. He is nicely built. I nicely laid back shoulder and angle with his elbow. I would like to see if lion a little thicker putting his groin a bit lower than his stifle.. He has a lovely topline and a nice deep chest, excellent for air flow. I'm not a fan of his hindquarters, it's uneven and I'm not sure its completely the fault of the loin but I can't place it.

I don't like the angle of the hooves in the grass pictures but on the pavement they look better. He has GREAT bone though.

He has a lovely head (in the last picture, but a plain neck, but nothing that couldn't be improved by building it up with some collection exersizes.

Overall he has a brillant coat reflecting great health and a fantastic build. He is absolutly lovely! I would even go so far as saying that he might even be wasted on trail riding as he has such a build that can support any activity (except maybe endurence).

The minor faults may be even be corrected in the next couple of years as he grows. For drafts, draft crosses and warmbloods they tend to age a little later and slower so go gentle for now and he'll only get better.

Any other thought out there on him?

I have always liked lilac dun haffie crosses...

I like his conformation...he is a tad sickle hocked, and his croup is a bit high but a moderate amount of those is a good thing IMO, and indicates substantial rear end power. If it weren't for PETA, we could bring back the running through brick wall discipline and I have no doubt he would excel at that.

Overall, I think he has very good conformation with correct legs for a good foundation, and good aesthetics, and I don't really see anything negative to point out...
