This is a discussion on Critique 4 1/2 month old colt within the Horse Conformation Critique forums, part of the Horse Breeds, Breeding, and Genetics category
Well, first off, I want to hug him. That grumpy look doesn't help either, he is adorable!!
Overall, I think he looks really nice. He has a nice big hip, his shoulder looks nice, his legs look straight, in my non-expert opinion, I think he's going to mature into a very lovely horse. His bone seems a bit light and his back legs look a bit funky but nothing too bad.
What are your plans for him?
A real cutie!
As for confo at this stage it's hard to tell but right now he's got a nice shoulder angle
Possibly buck-kneed in the fronts but hard to tell with just the one photo
Pasterns appear long at this age and he's set back on them a little too much
Steep angle to his croup but otherwise well-rounded hindquarters
Slightly sickle-hocked in the back legs
Soenjer55: Well we know we're going to take him to some AQHA shows in halter when he's a yearling and we'll see how he does in that, but as far as riding we don't know what he's going to do yet.
