This is my little 1 1/2 yr old qh. Please keep in mind that he IS a baby, and that potbelly won't last forever. I'm more interested in seeing what you think of how he is put together, etc. He is standing about 13hh right now, and probably won't top 14.3, as that's what height his parents are. He has got some cowhorse breeding, and has some pretty decent blood in him.
The big sorrel pictured is his sire.
I don't want to sound mean, but he looks quite unthrifty. When was the last time he had a fecal done and was wormed? The potbelly but ribby look is not related to his age so much as poor quality nutrition. What is he being fed?
He looks like he will mature into a nice using type with decent shoulder. Hind leg a bit straight. I would consider a close exam of your feeding and maintenance program so that he can mature into his full potential.
Tryst, I just bought him, so he came with the potbelly. He was just wormed when I bought him, and we are feeding him very nice grass/alfalfa mix, and I've started him on TotalFeed equine.
I saw the thread that you posted of him 2 weeks ago and he looks to have gone downhill a bit in that short amount of time. Hopefully you have someone that can help you get him squared away.
yes, its the same horse. I couldn't figure out how to add more pics to the first post. And yes, i realize you can see his ribs, I could see them before i bought him too, they just don't stand out in the first pic.
