I would build him up with trot work, raised poles, lateral work and circles, changing the bend and moving the shoulders/quarters about on a circle to get him engaged and build up the muscles :) Good luck with thim :)

Doing normal schooling with him right now is very hard (muddy paddocks) but trotting and circle work sounds great! By raised poles, do you mean trotting poles or jumps? Because he actually jumps over any type of pole I have been working on trotting poles but you know what he does? He JUMPS THE WHOLE THING! I never knew he could jump that far! But we're working on it

The are some people nearby who are offering a "jumping clinic" for any level rider or horse and I was thinking maybe I could do that with Luca? I mean, I still need a LOT of training with my jumping and so does Luca. My parents think its a good idea, too. I could also do some good trotting and circles on the BEACH when the weathers better. But high do you think he could be able to jump?
