Critique my 18 year old AQHA!!

I have had him for several years now. He was originally trained in reining but I am working him towards english and possibly jumping 18" cross rails. He is currently used as a lesson horse. Just let me know what you think!
Sorry for the lighting and bad stance, we were in a hurry. I will try to get better pics tomorrow.

He's sway backed, so I personally wouldn't jump him. At least not very high. He seems to toe out and stand under himself.

(I'm still learning this conformation lark, so hopefully someone more experienced will be along shortly!)

He is 18 so yeah, he is a bit sway backed. Lol

Getting him to stand square will help a lot, especially on the front and rear views. It's hard to tell much because he's not square.
He does appear sway backed in the side views. Is he an older horse?

Just saw your posting above.... some of that may be normal for his age.

You can help his back with Caveletti and trotting up hills with you in a two point and him lon a loose rein. Gradually raise the caveletti to 12 inches and 8 poles and again.. two point on a loose rein.

He is really a pretty nice horse.. solid and it looks like he has a correct hind leg. Get his abdominal muscles built up so he can better support that back. When he is in better shape and can do caveletti like I have indicated (3-4 months from now with regular.. 5-6 days a week riding) and trot up long hills (if you have hills) he probably will be fine with small jumps.. and 18 inches is small jumps.
