More pics up!!

Hi all,

So you may have read my recent post where I wanted you guys to critique Winston's neck but you said you needed a full body shot. So here they are:

I know that he is sickle hocked (?), BIG HEAD, and Parrot mouth (he is frequently seen by dentist).

So go for it!!! (Be as mean as you want!)

Also yes, he is undermuscled, but that is to be expected as he is just a paddock ornament!

Also (again), is he roman nosed???

My, he is a bit hammerheaded, isn't he? O.o lol

I don't see a roman nose. I think what you're seeing as a roman nose is just the parrot mouth and how big his head is.

His neck is a good length and isn't too thick or too thin. It does tie in really low on his chest, though. He is a wee bit pigeon breasted.

I do like his front legs. He's a tiny bit tied in behind the knee, but I've definitely seen worse. His pasterns have a nice length and slope on them.

His back is a wee bit long, but he has a nice deep heart girth. His croup is a little steep.

His hind legs are pretty sickle hocked. His hocks aren't as low as I'd like, but they're definitely not overly high, either. His gaskin looks rather flat, but it looks like with conditioning, he could have some good muscling there.

One thing I notice is that the heels on his back feet look quite a bit under run.

Overall, I don't think he's too horrible. His sickle hocks will take some consideration/care, but really other than that, anything that's "wrong" with him isn't going to effect his performance or usability overly much.
Do not tell me I can't...because I will show you that I can.

drafty gave you an excellent critique. i would ask what age this boy is? i wonder if he has growing yet to do...if not then his hind end is significantly taller than his front, leading to the sickle hocks- or at least the pressure on the hock to compensate for his tall hind/ shorter fore. i do think he might have a bit of a roman nose, which is actually quite attractive in my opinion but as drafty stated, it could be a impression given by his larger head, parrot mouth and smaller eye. nonetheless, I like his head and throatlatch. shoulder angle and front pasterns match up nicely. loin connection is a bit weak, i would really work the topline on this boy. i also sense that the second photo might not be flattering. i would really love to see more of him so we can make better opinions!

He's kind of a big lug type. Personally, I like big lug types. but I didint always. I think it's an aquired taste. Often big lug types have the nicest personalities and can be just Joe Reliable. So underappreciated in this world.

I agree alot with Drafty. His head isn't roman, just parrot mouthed and he does have a bit of a high bridge between the eyes.
I think his neck appears short because it is lacking muscle and his head and shoulders are much larger in comparison.
He does have a nice shoulder, however, i personally think that his girth could be a tad deeper.
Front legs look decent, though in the photo he seems to be standing a little under himself. But this could just be the way he has positioned himself for the photo.
Back is long and although the angle to his croup is a bit sharp, with muscle his hindquarters could develope nicely.
Back legs are sicklehocked and i think that if he were standing correct, his back pasterns would straighten out and support him better.
