Opinions?

My mother just bought herself a weanling filly and I was just wondering what people thought of her bone structure and if she looks like a solid, sound little girl.

She's 6 months old and is a QH/Paint/Draft.

She looks like a cute girl but it is impossible to give a critique from those pictures. You'll need to get pictures of her squared up on level ground...one picture from each side, one from the front showing her legs and one from the back showing her legs.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

She's not with us yet but I'll be sure to put up proper ones when she is! These are one's the breeder gave us. Here's ones (hopefully better) with clearer side shots.

She might be too young here to tell anything:

The same with this one:

Holy cow, you can darn sure see the draft in her . She reminds me a lot of my BelgianxQH.

Those are quite a bit better simply because they show her legs better and they are square from the side.

Simple answer? I love her . Good straight legs. Great angles, especially in her hocks. Well angled shoulder and well formed rump. Maybe just a touch cow hocked on the back but that isn't uncommon, nor is it necessarily a bad thing. She has a very nice, petite head for as big as her body is going to be. Her neck will likely always be thick and may end up a little cresty as she matures but that will be consistent with her breeding (draft).

All in all, an exceptionally nice filly and I look forward to more pictures of her .

Thanks so much! I was little worried because my mother bought her without going there to see her (we've had he vet and farrier checked though). I was also a bit worried because of the price we got her for (only $1000, which is pretty cheap in the Maritimes of Canada).
We love the draft in her so much! It's the main reason that my mother was drawn to her.

Agree with smrobs...I like her a lot as well, but then again, she does have VERY similar markings to my yearling so
