Smile OTTB Conformation Critique...2 YO Filly!

Hi! I am looking into purchasing an OTTB filly if I like her personality and all goes well with her. She is listed at $3000 but the owner has offered her to me for $500. The owner is a family friend. I know that as a 2yo she will fill out considerably till shes about 6, like most TB.

Honestly, not too worried about showing. I ride hunter/jumper but I just love horses! So if I really like this mare, as he says I will, Id love to just get her and ride her, perhaps trail rides if shes calm enough and into it. She will be 3 in about 2 days, and these pics were taken last year. So im sure shes changed a bit. Im going to see her this weekend so I will get some pics then.

I am a bit unsure of the poultice/wraps on her front legs. Are those something they wear while racing? Or should I be worried? Im definitely going to ask the owner about them either way!

Her current owner says shes so calm and well-trained I could ride her blindfolded. Ill believe it when I see it, but I do think she could be a sweet, calm, rarely spooky horse. We shall see.

Thanks so much for your help! Please be as detailed as youd like! The more opinions, the better!

She's butt high (but she's only 2 so okay), I don't like that she's looking at the camera - makes it hard to see her neck.

There might be something weird about her pasterns? They look rather upright.

If she's only $500 why not? I do agree with ForeverSunRider's critique though. Her eye kind of seems sunken in? Maybe not though since it's really hard to make out her face in the pictures. I would like to see her neck. I think you might just have to see her in person.

I see a long back with a long/weak coupling. Fine boned and over at the knee. Wasp waisted (though may change with let down). And what appears to be a long, incorrectly muscled neck/possible ewe neck. I would also say her pasterns are slightly upright. It's hard to see her shoulder because of the low lighting/shadows so I won't comment on that. Me personally I would pass. Upright pasterns can lead to early arthritis because they don't do as well taking concussion. And you will have to do special exercises to make sure her back is strong and to not cause back issues.
