Ezra's Desert Image (Image) is registered 1/2 Arabian although I don't know what her other half was (I am guessing Paint, but it isn't listed on the papers). She is about 15 hands and 17 years old. She is a chestnut overo with frame, sabino, and splash...and two blue eyes!
She has many, many years of professional western pleasure training and many years of showing. She has been ridden mainly by youth for many years of 4-H after her open showing/WP career. She has also been used for trails, english,a bit of dressage, and dabbled in jumping. She neck reins as smooth as butter and direct reins just as well. She goes english/western/dressage/bareback no problem. She can be ridden by anyone that can sit on a horse. She is VERY easy to control and requires only very light touch or voice commands. She has a lovely WP jog/lope,but will also move out really nicely with the dressage saddle on. She isn't spooky and has no bad habits under saddle.
She leads, loads, ties, clips, bathes,is easy to catch, picks up hooves,is excellent for the vet/farrier, and isn't pushy at all.
The bad: She is an alpha mare if pastured in a herd and will expect the first pile of hay, first treat, first pet, etc. and will push other horses out of the way. She has never been agressive towards a human, but will occasionally pin an ear if you don't put her food out fast enough. If you hold up a finger and tell her she had better knock it off she does right away. This is her worst trait.
Other than that she gets along great with other mares/geldings in a herd. She just wants to be the boss of the youngsters
She is completely sound, never sick/colicked/foundered. She has great hooves and doesn't need shoes. She is wormed on a regular schedule and has her shots.
Hmm..what else. She isn't buddy sour. She can be ridden on trails,in the pasture,in the arena, or wherever with anyone no problem.
I bought her for my little sister to ride and she absolutely loves her,but I'm getting another Arab back that I sold a couple years ago and my sister wants to ride my Arab gelding, Nimir, so Image just won't be getting used like she should.
So we agreed to sell her IF we can find her a home that will adore her as much as we do.
So what would you be paying for her? I don't expect to make a bunch of money off her..don't worry. I just want to put up a fair price AND be able to find her the right home.
Her worst point is her age...while 17 isn't really that old and she doesn't look/act it it is still getting up there in age. I have no doubt she has another decade of riding on her. I wouldn't even believe she is 17 except I have her papers...
Her best points: She is a FUN nearly dead-broke very easy horse to ride without an ounce of boring in her. She is very light and well trained, but is not going to plod you around. She is interested in her job and likes attention/to work. She is safe, great for kids, and has tons of experience in several fields.
Sorry for the rambling. I realize prices will vary GREATLY from area to area so I am wondering what you would price her as in YOUR area AND if you would like to do a confo critique go ahead :)
The photos were all taken within the last about 8 months with the top ones the most recent and working back. Sorry she is muddy in some of the winter ones I can get riding videos if needed within the next several days.
Thanks in advance!!!
