Possible Buy and My mare

Hello :)
So, First of all, Im going to ask you to critique my mare.
This is when we got her- sorry for the AWFUL picture but It might give you an idea to the whole 'before and after'.

Then there's a more recent picture.

Please keep in mind she is an akhal teke, and they are bred to look a certain way- so whilst I encourage you to point out faults that i'm blind to- please be nice

And then theres this boy.

svartvalack2.wmv - YouTube
He's seven years old, about 17 hands and has only been used for hacking out on- hence his lack of education.
However, I see it quite positively as I see so many horses being started so young nowadays- jumping courses of 1.20 plus, doing too advanced dressage etc. when they're just 4 or 5, and especially with big horses I believe it is important that one lets them finish growing completely. (No offense intended to anyone :) )
The video bothers me a little- he's a little slow, and at times has his head behind the vertical- but then again, that often happens without enough forwardness, and he's probably not strong enough to come properly from behind yet. Thoughts?
Sorry that the pictures are so mammothlike- photobucket doesnt want to cooperate with me :(

I knew she was an akhal- teke immediately, lol- she's gorgeous, I love akhal-tekes!! These pictures aren't the best for critiquing, and one picture probably isn't going to give an accurate idea, but I'll try. I'm no expert, though, lol...
Overall, I think she is a gorgeous mare, very well built and balanced- you can definitely tell she's an akhal-teke.
I love her shoulder, it looks beautifully sloped, her back end looks powerful, and the angles look well-matched. She has the typical akhal-teke's long back, and downhill build. She also has the typical inverted akhal-teke neck, I'm not sure how else to describe it, lol.
Her front legs look nice and straight, and her pasterns are nicely angled and look like an average length. I think she's sickle hocked, but don't take my word for it...
As for the gelding.
I think he's gorgeous, well balanced and put together, but like you said- he's not very forward...

I'll try to get some better ones tonight :) this one was the best I had available.
And as far as height- My sisters stallion was about that tall- also a teke. He was more sportshorsey in type, whilst mine is more of the traditional little teke.

Love the mare! She is nicely put together. The gelding I also love love love him. I can see him with better impulsion with more work. He has the potential to be a lot more forward. Now just getting that head up a tad/more vertical and making him use his booty would be the challenge. I'd do a lot of trails on this big guy to get him into his own body. Trails would make him use the booty and get him comfortable doing so IMO. It's almost like he doesn't know what to do with the booty.

I love the gelding, gorgeous horse! Nice height and very well put together. Not a huge fan of the rider, but I think with the right training this guy (the horse) will be awesome! Love the looks! Love the other horse too :0)
