She is overweight as evidenced by her butt pillows. But, her conformation is very good, IMO. Her shoulder is good and she is well balanced in her porportions. Her hocks are large (though looks maybe a bit overly round? not sure on that ).
If you got her in shape, she'd be killer!

Yes,she is certainly well fed! She's been sitting on pasture for a few years with 4/7 access to good feed,as is very evident, lol.

Saddlebreds are much underrated. She looks very sturdy and the slight "sway" to her back is somewhat typical of her breed. If you can work her in ways that strengthen her abdominal muscles, this will help.

I once met this guy out riding how rode a Sddlebred. the horse was a trail horse extraordinaire. He'd had her up in Alaska and rode her out on some pretty hairy trails, with grizzlies and caribou and stuff and she kept her mind and her feet.

I agree with tinyliny completely! Get her into work, and she'll be quite the stunner! I'm not generally a huge fan of saddlebreds, either, lol.
Anyway, on with my attempt at a critique... I'm pretty new to this and still learning, so bear with me if I make any stupid mistakes, lol.
She has nice short and well-sloped pasterns, with round hocks which look pretty well set to me. Short straight canons. Her front legs are perfect- straight from the front view, not over or under at the knee, going into a beautiful shoulder with good slope. Her neck is a bit thick since she is overweight but it's a good length and looks to tie in well. Her withers don't look too high or too low. Her girth looks average, not especially deep but not shallow at all, either. She has a nice short back. She has a pretty short croup but that seems like a saddlebred thing to me. Overall she looks perfectly balanced to me throughout her body, she's lovely!

The photo (first one) helps her a lot because the photogrpher is standing a bit back of her. This shortens the look of her back. I think she is likelyu long backed and needs to be ridden.. lots of hills with a loose rein and the rider ina two point. She has great legs (something I believe the breed is noted for). Her neck is set typically for the breed.. a bit high on a laid bac shoulder.

Nice large hocks. Nice angles all the way around.

Get her out of the pasture and use her!! If she was ridden and conditioned 5-6 days a week you would see an entirely different horse.. better looking than she is now.. and she looks pretty good now (just a bit fat).

She's absolutely adorable! I am not much for critiquing (sorry), but I have to mention her eye, it's soooo kind and loving! Her face just screams sweetness! I personally don't think she's so much fat, as out of shape. I actually think her weight is good and with some work she'll really be stunning.

I love her!
