Saddle fitting?

This is not a great pic I know and maybe not where I should ask this question but here goes. Does this look like a saddle fitting nightmare? I am having a difficult time. Had a saddle fitter out take my tracings shopping and nothing seems to fit!
Long high narrow withers the problem???

Looks like a pretty normal horse to me. Quite short in the back so the length of the saddle MAY be a factor but this horse is a pretty normal shape really. Average wither, about average curve to the back.

I have a lot of trouble because I have a horse with a straight back (LONG straight back thank goodness or I'd be REALLY struggling), he is wide but has a medium-sized wither so most of the wider, straighter saddles don't have enough wither clearance for him.

I really can't help with suggestions of what would fit as I only know what fits the shape I'm trying to fit!

Well glad he looks pretty normal; maybe I have just not hit the right brand yet. Issues I have run into well I have pretty much given up on finding something used. A round skirt (short back) in a 16-17 inch seat (big bootie) is about as easy to find as a Christmas gift for your father-in-law. I am using an older Crates with a "built up" wool pad as the gullet is too wide with the pad it's a decent fit but it's smallish for me. The back ˝ of this saddle fits him great. The saddles I have put my tracing against that have a smaller gullet then the back ˝ of the saddle is to narrow. Circle Y has been the closest brand to match the tracings thus far. Is it really this difficult?

Could you show a pic (front view to the side a little) with your Crates saddle on him without a pad? A 17" saddle will have longer bars than 15/16". Saddle bars come in basically three configurations, semi qh or regular, qh, and wide or full. The wide/full have the same angulation as semi but are wider behind the shoulders. The qh are flatter in angle.

I will see if I can get that pic this weekend. All I have are saddled with pad pictures. Saddle fitter said to stick with a round skirt do to short back - it often looks to me like his back is 1/2 withers LONG withers...
