    Thoughts on this mare?

I had a good friend call and ask if would be interested in a partnership on this mare. I have no problem with it but want some thoughts. These are not the greatest comfo. Pics but it is what they listed. I am a little unsure of why they are selling her all of a sudden and why the starting bid is so low because I know what they paid for her and it was no where near $500! I know it says reserve price, so we will see what she sells at.

She did place in the top 5 of the wet mare class at nationals and there was 40 or 50 entries

Lot# 25 : From The Heart Dancing The Rumba

    DOB: 4/5/07
    AMHA: N/A
    AMHR: 282566

    ASPC: 157081
    Gender: Mare
    Color: Black Bay
    Height: 35

    LOCATED: Lancaster, Ohio

2011 National All Star Broodmare “Wet” 34” Under Rumba is a 5 year old mare with very petite features. Her pedigree is two of the best known names in the business! Rumba would make a great addition to your show string or to your brood mare herd. Rumba’s certificate states 35 inches, but she showed in 2011 at 34 inches. Rumba threw a filly in 2011 with no delivery problems. She was left open for 2012.

    Consigner: Birch Tree Farms
    Reserve: yes

    Pretty little thing!
Maybe they're going through financial troubles or trying to downsize.
If you're worried, I would take a vet with you maybe if you go to see her, just to be on the safe side that there are no health issues.
As for confo, the pictures are sort of small but she looks well put together. Nice hindquarters and her front legs look good as well as her backs (sort of hard to tell with the pose she's standing in, though)
Her shoulder angle isn't very steep, which inturn makes her neck appear a little long (from what I can make out) but overall a nice mini

Hmmm, well there was 3 pictures to that but two disappeared? I don't know what happened there. Anyway, got an email back and they are downsizing due to health problems within the family and they want to stay with the larger minis and ponies. They think she is just a little to small for what they want.

    How would the partnership work?

She seems lovely, what would you ladies do with her?

The partnership details are to be worked out if we both get serious on this. She is serious and while I like the mare, do not have the room for her here. She would definitely be at her place and in her care. Which worries me none, if her horse blinks the wrong way, she is staying up all night and calling the vet. She wants to bring her in as a showmare and then a broodmare after HOF is earned. The other person does own this mares half sister. She looks almost just like her but does have a better neck/head than Rumba does. She (the one she already has) does have her HOF in halter.

Like I said, it is still in the thinking about it phases and it depends on how high she goes price wise also. If she gets out of sight, I am out. I have 7 horses here and they are my priority, especially since one has started to show signs of either needing chiro/massage work, or possibly having ulcers. Honestly praying for chiro/massage work, I am sick of ulcer cases. Going to call them in the morning and see when they can work her in.
