Hi im just wanting a little bit more conformation information on this colt and filly for an assignment for tafe as im still learning but am not quite sure if I am right or wrong in my own critique.
Chestnut Colt
Head: Good size in proportion to body, large kind eyes (No whites shown). Ears slightly too large in proportion to head. Forehead nice and wide. Neck Set: Slightly short in comparison to length of back, But has a good thickness.
Top line: Neck is concave, croup is slightly higher than the withers. Shoulders and hip are also well balanced. Over all he is well balanced. Hind quarters: Rump is nicely rounded, One scar on the nearside rump (approximately 10cm long), dock is lower than the croup.
Front Legs: Straight with a good wide chest between them. However the near side pastern and hoof are slightly splay footed.
Hind Legs: Very slightly cow hocked are slightly turned out at the (pigeon toed), are parallel to each other and even in length Feet: Front feet are ideal and correct, hind feet are slightly upright and broken forward.
Appearance and Balance: Overall this colt is well built and nicely balanced with only the minor error of his out turned hind legs and the scar on his nearside rump. Temperament: Placid, calm and collected, happy whilst the stable-hands worked around him to prepare him for the parade ring. On the auction stage was calm but alert under the pressure.
