New rule regarding lying and fake identities

Due to recent events, we have been drafting a new rule. It will be going into effect now. In order to escape punishment, you may come clean with a member of the Horseforum team immediately.

12- The Horse Forum is not for make believe. While we're fond of daydreaming, and the discussion of possibilities, the horse forum is not a place for making things up and passing them off as the truth. If it becomes evident that a member has been making things up, and a determination is made that other members' time and energy has been wasted as a result, that member's access may be restricted. Similarly, if there is reason to believe that two members are the same person, one or both members may have their access restricted. That said, members are more than welcome to play games or engage in appropriate role playing in the Games forum when making the character of their posts explicit.

Good policy - but a shame it has to be set at all.

I have noticed a lot of "alter" accounts aroud recently. Namely ones that follow one person/member around to say "yeah! Go girl!" - you know what I mean.

JDI-I've noticed that too

It's sad we need this rule, but since we do, I'm glad we have it

Ah, great rule. So sad it has to be publicly (and verbally) enforced o_O

Most people are like Slinkies; they serve no real purpose, but they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on for dear life.
