Forum is jumping around all over the place, just like it was a few months ago and NOW it just ate my original post to report the problem. Don't know what's going on but I'm getting mighty tired of all these issues.

Not to hijack....I have the same problem, but also....

Why do I no longer have a way to go to "last post read"? If I click on a a thread (at the bottom of the page, on the side, or on a list) , I go to the first post on the thread. If I click on the little chevron, I go to the LAST post on the thread. Then, I have to click page by page to find where I left off.

I have to be in classic, the other one does not work for me.

The biggest problem that the techie guys are having in trying to fix these things is that they are 'random' - essentially they don't happen to everyone, its more like some people are affected and a lot of people aren't.
On the days that I've had problems here I've had the same problems on another forum that I'm a member of that's nothing to do with Vertical Scope
and its all down to my internet connection being incredibly slow

Jaydee, I have super fast internet, so it's not my connection. Also, it isn't happening anywhere but here. I really did like the new platform, but it's kind of like the VDI I use at work, not stable. I HAVE to deal with the virtual desk stuff at work, but here I find it extremely frustrating. Probably because I'm already mad at most things computer by the time I get here. Switching back to the Classic. New isn't necessarily better.

The update has been a disaster for me. First, I never got the email that was supposed to tell me I had to change my password. Ever. Then when I went looking for what was wrong, I saw that I was supposed to request a new password. That took more than two weeks. So after being unable to connect for three weeks, I got back in and found that when I try to enter a new post, two out of three times they get trashed when I try to preview them.

I'm a member of a dozen forums, of varying quality. Most of them are not as well moderated as this one. None of them have people as nice as Horseforum members. But since the upgrade, this forum takes the prize for technical incompetence, and it's not even close. I have more problems here on every visit than I've had in ten years on some other forums. And I'm afraid we've lost some people permanently.

The only problem that I'm having is that this forum has gotten super slow. I don't have this problem with my computer if I'm not on this sight. I haven't tried to switch back to classic to see if it does the same thing.

I'm reporting this thread to the Techie Team so they can look at it and maybe offer some help though It sounds as if some of the problems are more related to individual computer or internet problems/compatibility than to the forum itself or some people (like Napth) wouldn't be having any trouble at all
This site can help you check your broadband speed

And this one might help explain why your computer seems to be taking ages to open some things
Why is my Internet connection so slow?

I am glad it isn't just me, I visit this site on different devices., and it always is super slow. The most annoying thing is these stupid video ads. They really gum up the works! I have to look at the running horse smilie to find out when it is working fast enough to type a response, otherwise I have to go and fix about every 3rd word.

Yeah, it is still super slow for me. I changed to classic and my problems are solved. I really like the new format better but my patients have worn out. I have high speed internet with no problems on that end. I also only have problems with speed on this forum with the new format. Classic is working perfectly.

Also all good for me, but I switched back to classic almost immediately (because for a while "like"-ing wasn't working in the new format) and have stuck with it.

In Firefox in a Mac and Dolphin on my iPad. Connections range from 1.2 Mbps in northern NH to 50 next to Boston.

Have any of the members that are finding it slow checked their speeds?
It would also be interesting to compare their speeds with those of the members that are having no trouble
I have the fastest available in this area but its still nowhere near as fast as is available in other areas and when I checked my speed it wasn't as fast as its even supposed to be.
