Arabian rule book question

On another thread a poster wrote that only clear polish can be used on Arabians hooves. I looked in the rule book and couldn't find a reference to this. Can anyone set me straight on this??

Yes, that's correct. You used to be able to put black polish on black hooves, but not any longer. It's clear or nothing now. That's for breed shows, though. If you're showing open, it may not apply.

Open shows doesn't matter, but clear only for breed shows. If you sand well and clean them up nicely, it won't matter if it's clear or black - the clear will look nice anyway.

Thank you!! I haven't got to the breed shows yet, but hopefully we'll be good enough to go to one next year, still have a few bugs to work out with my gelding.

What region will you be showing? I'll be taking mine to a few region 14 shows in junior horse and halter classes and we'll be going to the egyptian event next year also.

I'm in Region 9. I'm trying to learn the ropes of showing on my 1/2 Arabian gelding, he's a work in progress and has issues from previous owners! But, I wouldn't trade him for anything. I bred my SE mare and would like to seriously show him/her when the time comes.

I was recently at a Region 3 Arab show in reno, and my freind riding in 14-17 never was notified or called out about this, may I ask if this rule is only for certain regions/States?
