Bathing my horse. Help!!!

my horse, hates being washed! i know that most horses hate baths, but im going to a riding camp in a week so i want to make her clean and shiny! does anyone know any secrets to make it a bit more enjoyable, to make them sparkle more, and to keep them clean after??? thaks a heap!

Real treasure doesnt clink and glitter, it shines in the sun and neighs in the dark

lots o' treats

Haha, pretty much - try and make it a fun experience. Lots of rewards for being well behaved, and soothing words to keep her calm and happy. Keep the baths short in the beginning, so she doesn't get stressed out right off the bat. Over time, you can lengthen the time you spend washing her ie: shampooing mane and tail, lathering up her whole body. Just start off with light hosings and short times in the water. Eventually, she'll grow to enjoy it.

Have a good time at camp :)

This is going to sound really soft, but my show girls always behaved better if I used warm water. My last hack would not stand still if I used cold water but as soon as I switched to warm she was an angel to wash.

I guess it's the same if we wanted a bath, I'd much prefer to have warm water!!
