Before and after clipping pics

This is my 7mo friesian x filly, Mia before and after her first clip session. She was a little ticklish around her legs but overall very well behaved. The darker patches on her shoulders are from being previously clipped for branding.

So pretty!! If I might ask though, what is the point to clipping a 7mo old? And I love the fluffy ears in the before pictures

I clipped her as she was doing damage to herself scratching out her foal coat on any available object with the spring increase in temp. No amount of brushing was going to remove the amount of hair she had, it was a good inch thick. Plus will be showing her in some breed classes this year.
Lol, I like the fluffy ears too but most judges I know don't unless of course its a breed you show natural like my welsh cob

First off, CUTE! Love the fluffy baby mane.

She looks great afterwards. What size blade, might I ask? It's a really smooth clip job....

Ahh this makes sense, I was thinking maybe you were desensitising her to it while she was small so couldn't do as much damage if she panicked or something :)

I have a miniature with fluffy ears and everyone loves hers lol

The weather here in Western Australia has changed so quickly this year. Two weeks ago we had a 3 degree night (Celsius) then yesterday we had a 35 degree day. Poor ponies don't know if they should be sleek or shaggy lol.

Mods, grant me the serenity to see the opinions I cannot change, courage to change the ones that should change, and the wisdom to spot the trolls.

lol true the weather is soo unpredictable at the moment. Was mid 20s (Celsius) todays but temps just plummetted in the last hour. Ponies are all snug in their rugs though.

Thanks she is pretty special Clipper blades used were the big Oster 84AU blade used on a Heiniker hand set for the body and the smaller 10mm blade on double K clippers to do face, legs and tidy up.
