Which braid??

So I am trying to decide on a versatile braid that I can use for Western and English classes for shows that have both- I don't have time to braid in between usually.

Here are some options I'm thinking of...

- Layered diamond braids (the andulusion)

-Diamond braids
And if anyone has any other suggestions shoot!!

I don't like running braids unless their layered or zigged. I think their sloppy looking and I can't really do rosettes because their not acceptable in Western events. Whatever it is I WILL be taking out for barrels.

The events I do that one braid pretty much has to cover-
-reining, jumping, english pleasure, bareback, halter, showmanship, dressage. And other speed events- but since those are almost always at the end- I plan on taking braids out. With my other horses I've never had to braid- their manes were short and thin and I cut them short. I love my guys mane and refuse to cut it!

Awww man!!! That layered braid on the andy would work perfect on one of our TWH mares who has a horribly long and thick mane and I could never figure out what to do with it but that braid is awesome!!!! I love either of the diamond braids!!!

I would do the one in the first picture. I know a few people who have done those and showed western and English in them and they look great! They are also pretty simple and easy once you get the hang of it! Another option is just to band the long mane! I have seen them at a couple of shows and I like the look of them!

I've never seen a show where you would have both reining and dressage the same day. And I thought dressage was pretty strict on what is acceptable. I would braid/band for your dressage class and pleasure class as those are really the only one that matter what the mane is doing. Anything acceptable for those classes will be fine for halter and showmanship. The other classes have no standard for manes as far as I am aware.
