Question Braiding Manes.. HELP!

What length should the mane be and how thin should it be for hunter braids?? I can braid manes but they are not as nice as I would like. Pictures would be helpful too! Thanks!

I found THIS article recently that does a pretty good job of describing braids and has good photos.

And make sure you allow for PLENTY of time and then some. If you have to rush, the braids will start to look sloppy, no matter how good you are at braiding.

I agree, Apachie, time and patience are very important when trying to make nice braids. They are also a practice makes perfect thing.

Now what happens toward the end of the neck? My horse has thiner hair at the braids look really skinny and small. What do I do for that?

You can add extra yarn pieces to fill them out some. I think smaller braids near the withers are pretty common.
