Time to gear up for the first show of the season here in Nebraska, this weekend. My new trainer likes all of her students to have their horses braided at shows. So I guess I am braiding.
I Have braided before, and I've had it turn out well and last however I have a problem with Cinny's braids. They come out nice and all that, however he always has these short hairs (about an 1/2 inch to an inch long) that come out and stick up like a troll doll. It's not really mane hair, it's more like a fuzz that grows between his main hair and his normal coat. And it's not sparse little hairs here and there, it's THICK and very visible. Looks like he has half his mane braided and the other half roached. What the heck do I do with this?
In the past I have tried gels, hairspray etc both before and after braiding. Sometimes I think I haze it nicked but an hour later, POOF troll doll fuzz. It really detracts from his buttons and makes him look sloppy.
Any tips? Should I just clip it off so that he looks sleek and debonair?
