Question Braiding Question

Ok, so my question is what do you do with the tuft of mane that is left by the withers after doing a running braid or button braids?
If I button braid my horse's entire mane then one or two buttons are under the saddle pad. Do you just clip that section of mane? And if I do a running braid down my pony's entire neck then the braid pulls her skin.

I don't know if I am making any sense... Help!

I usually just leave it, since it's hidden by the saddle pad when tacked up. Some people do clip it off though.

I usually clip it so when it's under the saddle it doesn't get pinched or pulled on.

life has no remote control hitch them up and drive them your self

Clip it off or tuck it under the saddle pad, depending on length :)

If you are doing ground or in hand classes as well as riding, you could go ahead and braid that section. Then before you put the saddle on just take the last couple braids out so they don't irritate the horse.
It would be easier to just clip it off as so many others have suggested and I agree. But it might look funny(or it might not) for ground classes and I saw that you do halter and showmanship so I thought I would give you another option. :)

Your boy is gorgeous! I wasn't saying that it would look strange to clip the mane just that it might. It can vary depending on the horse. It was just another option.
