I agree, they shouldn't affect scoring... but I also think judges shouldn't discriminate against apps or paints, as I know some hunter judges do. But it happens. (ah, the joys of showing hunters... :roll: ) This doesn't include breed brands, as those are usually something to be proud of! (and usually not too noticable) No, these brands are huge and poorly done (looks like they stuck it on him, and then smeared it a little). It's just not a pretty accent to a very pretty horse! I've also found that it's harder to sell a hunter with a big brands, which stinks because he's a sale horse. Oh well, he's beautiful, good tempered, and can jump the moon! And hey, maybe we'll sell him as a jumper?

What color is he? If he is dark then coloring in might still work. I have a black horse and he had a giant mark around his neck. We colored it in and it wasn't noticeable unless you were right next to him...

Noooo kidding. Drives me nuts. I love Paints/Pintos, but would never get one to show Hunter or Dressage, because so many judges are against them :(
