Cheap Shampoo okay?

Just wanted to know, I have always used horse shamppo and conditioner, but never before have I had a tail as Think as my 3 year old Tb mare's. Its amazing (I will have pics on wensday night) but she seems to love to get t full of everything she can, poop, shavings, dirth hay, I MEAN EVERYTHING, I have trid tail bags and she seem sto have masterd getting them out! So I am going to be washing it when it seems to just be to much grossness, and I baught Sauve Shampoo and Conditioner and am wondering is this okay? will it be harmful to her thick beatiful tail? Just wondering!
Thanks

i do think, that it could be fine, but it could not be.
i use people stuff on my dogs, but the thing is it can dry out their skin and take the normal oils in it.
So i do kind of think buying actual shampoo and conditioner for you're horse is better than using human stuff.

Also if you want to put it up, and you're currently using a tail bag, and since she knows how to get out of that, i suggest actually buying some vet wrap, braid her tail up and wrap it up with that.
because she wont be able to get it off ;)

Agreed, I use vetwrap on my horses tails. As long as you are careful not to do it tightly you'll be fine.

I use the cheap shampoo from walmart, 99 cent store, all the time. I don't see a problem with it at all. I just pick out what smells best. Lol. Cricket, however, has never been given a bath with shampoo. I got her at the very end of summer and my friend bathed her and made her all pretty before she surprised me with her. Now it's winter, cold, and rainy and I havent gotten a chance to shampoo her. She desperately needs it. She's rubbing the hair off her butt. The vet said that she uses Head and Shoulders on her horses who rubb off their butt-hair. So I'm waiting for a sunny day. Lol Cricket will LOVE that. haha
