Oh my gosh my little pony Bart gets like a woolly mammoth! I don't even know why! We live in Southern California where it barely gets in the thirties 3 times a year! Guess he just likes extra warmth. I have to find time to take a picture so you guys can see him. ahaa

A horse at the place my filly is at (not sure the breed) has the longest, shaggiest winter coat ever.

To see the wind's power, the rain's cleansing, and the sun's radiant life, one need only to look at the horse.

(Psst, don't mind me... anyone interested in the worming discussion previously in this thread can find it here, Worming horses with long coats. Please continue discussing incredibly furry horses without reference to my post or the posts that have been moved. Thanks! )

I'm from Canada where it goes bellow freezing for the winter, all winter. My horse is out 24/7 and I don't blanket him. He gets so wolly he stops looking like a horse and his face looks more like a yack. His chin hairs are more then 3inchs long. He started shedding out a while back and now looks like most horses with a winter coat and that's more then half of what he had lol.
