Doesn't like grooming?

Lusty, my mare, doesn't seem to like to be groomed. Never heard of a horse that didn't like being brushed. I don't use a heavy hand and I don't see any obvious signs of irritation, but no matter where I brush her she moves as far away as the line will allow.

Any ideas? Do some horses just not like it?

Try using a softer brush. My arab would stand still only with a soft shoe buffing brush.

I'd guess it's probably more of a game for your mare.

She moves, you have to move.

Rather than it really being about the grooming,
It might be more about her not respecting you.

Just a thought.
