False Tail Dying?

Okay, so I bought a liver chestnut tail extension for my horse. Grew out of that horse, and got a chestnut QH.

The tail is only used TWICE, but now does not match my new horse Is it possible to dye the hair? It is a real horse hair switch if that helps.

You CAN dye it, but there's no gaurantee it'll be the right color. =]

Haha okay! So it won't destory the hair on the tail right?

And what type of dye would you use? (i might just take it to a local salon?? Lol)
I really don't want to buy a new one

If your old tail is in good shape it might be safer and easier to simply sell it and buy a new tail of the appropriate color.

That's what I really wanted to do, but it is an older style so I'm afraid it wouldn't be a quick sell so I could buy the new one :(

You can go buy dye at a store and do it yourself. No need to take it to a salon.

So just any old dye? Ahhh im scared lol!

Do you have a regular hair dresser you use? Why not ask them their opinion? They might have some ideas of what would work best for that situation and how to get the end result you want.


Why not try to sell it and see how that goes? You can advertise it and talk to your hair dresser at the same time.
