    I think your mare needs to have a chat with mine about being clean and not pulling hair out on fence posts and trees... once upon a time Sour's mane was that lovely too! D:

    I really appreciate all the comments, thank you all so much! And, yeah - her mane/tail is naturally thick due to her breed. My mare was a bit jealous (she has very little mane or tail) and downsized the filly's mane a bit (that is why it is so short at the withers). Hopefully, it growns back w/o any more unauthorized "trimmings".
