First time mane puller

Uh, lets just say I'm glad I started a month in advance...this is going to take forever.

Shouldn't take very long!

Wrap the hair (as in my left hand) around the comb which should be as high up the mane as possible and pull.

If done correctly few horses object to much- this horse and most of mine will stand loose whilst I pull their manes.

Well since both my filly and I are new to this I figured I should go easy. I've watched quite a few videos on it, and I know I'm doing it correctly...its just taking a while. I don't want her to get too opposed it.

What you can do is stop occasionally and give her a good crest rub...really massage it. It relaxes them in between. I do this to mine even if they are already calm and quiet sort of as a reward for staying that way :)

Do it on a warm day when the horse is warm. Way easier to pull & less stress on the horse.

Thanks ware. I remember hearing the hair comes out easier if they are warm. Any other tips?

Well that is a fine how do you do! LOL

Actually, I have never pulled a mane. I really like my guys manes natural.
