Forelock hair growth
My appyX mare has almost no forelock. It is the exact same length it was when she was a 2 yo. It is sun damaged (black hairs have faded to deep reddish), and frizzy (what there is of her mane and and tail is very silky, smooth, and soft). B/c of her forelock's "frizziness" and texture it "poofs" out and can appear to be far more than the tiny amount it actually is.
With all of that said, I am left wondering, does each hair actually never grow or does it just grow 2-3 inches or so and then fall out to be replaced by the next? Her main does not grow much, either. I like her mane, it is easy to care for and "fits" her. But the forelock, hmmm.
So here is my question, has anyone ever had this same experience and trimmed it all the way down...if so, did it grow back?
There is just as much horse sense as ever, but the horses have most of it.
