I think it helped that Delilah is only 12.2-12.3hh something like that. And pretty much falls asleep when I tie her and start braiding(unless she has hay in front of her, then she plays in it, throws it around and eats only half of it )

Have the same book. Love it. My guy's mane is now long enouth that I can try doing it. If it looks ok I will post pictures.
