getting my baby girl pretty

Her tail drags the ground and she steps on it and her mane is long advice?
And how do I get her white for shows?
What do I do with her mane and tail for english?
Pics of the advice would be even more helpful =]

To get her white I love the shampoo Quick Silver. It works wonders on my horses. I show Dressage and you can't do anything with the tail, but it's nice to keep it around the ankle length. As for the mane you can do french braids, button braids and about anything else you can think of! :)

Groom daily... other than that there are tons of products, search your local tack shop =) Unless it's required for breed shows and the such, I would highly suggest cutting the tail so that she doesn't step on it. I've seen a horse flip over after stepping on it's tail, so if it needs to be that long, please put it in a tail bag. You can condition and wash the mane and tail (as well as the horse) a couple of days before a show. You can buy a flysheet or summer turnout sheet to keep the horse clean until the show day. If you are braiding (english?) you can get a slinky to cover the braids, i'd suggest a french braid for you horse.

Show sheen is nice for shows, but if you need to grab mane, don't put it in that mane section. Also never put it under the saddle, unless you want to slip off =P

It would help to know what shows you are preparing for, them we could tell you exact details =)

Quicksilver is great for white, also, if you want to substitute for something more economical, go to walmart or that kind of store and get shampoo for gray or silver hair, works the same. Wash her tail in that too, let the whitening shampoo take effect, her tail will look beautiful. After it's dry, I would "bang" her long tail, which means cut it off square to the ground, like a straight cut right across the bottom. Only cut enough so she's not stepping on it. I would do a running braid on her mane, rather than cutting, thinning & pulling. She has such a beautiful mane, there is a great thread on here with video demonstrating how to do that. There is tons & tons of products at tackshops, ask the salesclerk what they use or recommend.

For western I might see why you would want such a long tail, but normally a tail that drags the ground in not good for jumpers/hunters and especially x-country. I dunno what your course looks like, but we used to x-country jump in the semi-wilderness, so a tail like that would get caught on everything! From the pictures it doesn't look like it's quite that long, but please be careful =)

Congrats on getting a new horse, by the way! I love her mane too, and I think it would be sad to cut it. There was also a thread on getting ready for shows that had LOTS of advice for white horses, you might want to look that one up. Have fun with your new horse =)
