That looks great! Do you happen to know if it can get wet? Lacey is kept out and I'd hate to see her tail get all rotted or something because it got wet... She is blanketed, but her tail bone is so long that the blanket's tail flap doesn't even come near the end of her tail bone...

Rest peacefully, Lacey.

Yes she would be fine. Just make sure you ONLY use WHITE! Because other colors will bleed out into the tail. Trust me I have seen it. It looks really bad. Just make sure you use a good moisturizing leaving condishioner before you put it in. Also you could use MTG once a week but I sugest some thing like coconut oil.

I am going to do that tail thing too! My gelding has a thin tail so maybe that will help a little.

I hatee using MTG because it really doesn't work THAT well and it smells terrible. The smell doesn't really come off your hands, either. I use a mixture of cowboy magic and SILK products. My horse's tail grows nice and thick and pretty fast. I just condition it with cowboy magic and braid it up in a nice braid. Then I spray SILK (here) all over the tail bone and kinda massage it in. Then, put it in a tail sock. I leave it in for a few days then take it out for a day, then put it up for another few days. On the days it stays up, spray a few squirts of the SILK on the tailbone to prevent any itching and to help growth.

It's worked like a charm for me :] the SILK also works FANTASTIC for rain rot spots, blanket rubs or any other bald spots a horse might get. It also helps take away itching. I put it on my horse's face that she had itched most of the hair off of on the stall and it all grew back in about week.
