^Wich is half the reason I event, I think my fingers would fall off after that! :P

And don't wash the mane before you braid, it makes it too slick to braid easily. I wash and condition the mane about a week beforehand. Then just wet it down before I braid

Oh I understand that the yarn way is better, sorry I should've been more clear though, I meant that using the sports gel before braiding really helps to keep them slick and without all the flyaways and makes it easier to braid because it makes the hair a little less slippery. As for washing the mane, I know most people say to do it a week before, but I don't keep my horses in stalls, nor do I blanket them while they are turned out, so after giving my horse a bath, they will go out and roll -_-
That's why I suggested the day before, and then using the sports gel to make them easier to braid with. Sticky them up a little :P
