Hoof Polish Dilemma Which color for my horse?

Hello everyone,

I'm having a bit of a grooming dilemma at the moment involving hoof polish. I have my first show of the season tomorrow, and one of the classes is a halter class where you can put hoof polish on your horse. I have two miniature horses that I will be showing in this class. The sorrel-and-white that has cream colored hooves I will be putting a clear polish on. The one I am not so sure about is the sooty-buckskin-and-white. He's a darker color, but he has white stockings. This horse also has striped hooves (Black and cream.) So, I was wondering, should I use a black hoof polish for him, or just a regular clear color? Thanks for the help!

All white feet, I would use clear. I personally think it looks tacky when people use black on white feet.

Yes, and that is why I will be using a clear polish on my gelding with white hooves. I'm wondering which color I should use on my other gelding (the top one) that has a dark body color, white stockings, and striped hooves?

Clear on both. We just had a thread about this. I thought this was deja vu!

Is it a general rule that white legs = clear polish?
